YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

How far in advance do I need to place my order?

As a rule of thumb: book as early as you can as certain months of the year are exceptionally busy.

Here at Red Apron we need a minimum of two weeks' notice for a special-occasion cake.

We start taking orders for wedding cakes a year in advance. To avoid disappointment, please give as much notice as you can - certainly no less than 1 month.

What will it cost?

We can always design something spectacular within your budget. Our prices vary as each cake is individually designed and made for your special occasion. The more elaborate the cake, the more expensive it will be.

Starting prices for Wedding cakes

As each cake is individually designed to suit your day, our pricing varies.

We take in to account, the size of the cake ie tiers, how many serves you require and the most important factor decoration ie sugar flowers, modelling, royal work etc.

Below is a starting price guide for a Red Apron Cake.

Single Tier $250

Two-tier $350

Three-tier $595

Four-tier $795

Please note that all decorations and adornments are handmade.

We are happy to accommodate you if you require delivery. Delivery charges will apply.

What size of cake do I need?

Let us know the number of guests and your desired serving, and we will be able to advise you on the size of cake you need.

You will need to decide if you are serving your cake as dessert or with coffee. Portions are as follows:

Coffee Portion Size 2.5cm x 2.5cm x approx 10cm height

Dessert Portion Size 5.0cm x 5.0cm x approx 10cm height

If you let us know the number of guests and your desired serving we will be able to advise you on the required size.

What to bring to the design consult

Please bring any colour samples with you or other design ideas ie: your invitations, pictures of table settings, your dresses etc. Anything that you think can help us to create a gorgeous, unique cake design that will suit your wedding perfectly.

How long will your Red Apron masterpiece last?

Please do not put fondant covered cakes in the fridge as this will cause the icing to sweat, and your decorations will wilt. Keep your cake out of direct sunlight in a cool, preferably air-conditioned, room until it is ready to serve.

A hot knife is recommended for cutting (just dip the blade briefly in hot water). All mud cakes can be frozen for up to 3 months. Fruit cakes can last the year if kept in a sealed container.

How long will the sugar flowers or models last?

Red Apron sugar flowers and models last forever if they are kept in an airtight container. Do not place your decorations in the fridge or freezer as the moisture will eat the icing.
